This week's show is a re-broadcast of the very first Riverwalk Jazz
hour featuring piano legend Dick Hyman in a tribute to Fats Waller.
Mr. Hyman's official website has information on his upcoming live
appearances, a biography and how to purchase his recordings and DVDs.

This is one of my favorites from Mr. Hyman. Starting Thursday,
Riverwalk Jazz will be re-broadcasting the very first show of the
series from 1989. First guest: Dick Hyman. Subject: Fats Waller. He is
still, at 85, without peer, beyond category.

Here is the Internet Movie Database page on Fats Waller, which makes
interesting reading. Fats played himself in 8 short subjects from 1941
called "soundies" as well as in the feature "Stormy Weather."

This video of Dick Hyman playing Fats Waller's "Jitterbug Waltz" was
captured May 2010 at Pearl Stable in San Antonio for another Riverwalk
Jazz show.

The Riverwalk Jazz Facebook page is creeping toward 2.000 likes.
"Like" us, we would like that.
