Nan was not a Dixieland musician; however, she was much respected and loved
in the field of Ragtime. She passed away on Monday evening, after battling
an illness for several months.

Here is a link to Nan performing her "That Missing You Rag."

"Bostick, Menlo Park, Calif., served as the 2012 Artist in Residence for
the Scott Joplin International Ragtime Festival the first week of February,
touring numerous area schools, exposing thousands of young students to the
excitement and syncopation of ragtime music.

"Ragtime was America's first contribution to popular music. You put some
blue notes in it, and you have Dixieland jazz," she was quoted in 2010.

Her great uncle was Charles N. Daniel, a ragtime-era composer and sheet
music publisher who helped Scott Joplin promote his first rag in 1899."
