[Dixielandjazz] JazzByMail.com is no more

I don't know if the rest of you used it much, but jazzbymail.com was 
a great source for small-label jazz records and was the home of Stomp 
Off Records.  When I noticed that the site was down this week, I 
called Bob Erdos to inquire and heard the bad news:  jazzbymail.com 
just turned off the lights.  The founder, Dan Warner, sold the 
business a couple of years ago to one of his employees; that lady 
decided to go into another business and just shut down jazz by 
mail.  Didn't try to sell/transfer it to another owner, wouldn't even 
entertain Erdos's plea to give him the files related to Stomp Off so 
he could place them elsewhere.

Worlds Records has picked up the Stomp Off franchise and probably 
also handles many of the other labels that jazzbymail sold, but 
jazzbymail.com was really easy to use, and their prices were 
right.  Such a shame.
