The news clip in the link tells most of the tale. He, 81, and his wife, presumably near the same age, died in a house fire last night in Michigan. There's only very slight mention of his musical life. He was the son of Red Ingle ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Ingle ) , someone some might remember/recognise. I believe it was just a while ago I saw a post from him in the Dixieland Jazz Mailing List. I have a home-burnt CD from him with some original artwork on the cover I'll have to dig out and post at Facebook.

One generally doesn't expect, late of a Friday night, after shoe-horning the boy into bed, to find such news, already internationally noticed, sitting in one's inbox.

RIP Don and Jean Ingle. Don couldn't write a brief email. They were always filled, willingly, with a wealth of info none of us could ever have known. He sat at the knee, and himself provided one as well.
