One of my grandsons age 14 for whom I have occasionally requested music from this list has been selected to play a couple of numbers at Ronnie Scotts this Sunday.

This is part of a `jazz in schools initiative`

Matthew doesn`t know what he will be playing yet but he starts rehearsing midday and will be playing with selected students from other schools as part of a support act just before the house band go into their Dizzy Gillespie set in the evening.

His  father is a good musician but the closest he got  to performing at Ronnie Scotts was being thrown out for dancing in front of the band on his Stag Night.

Not strictly OKOM I know. Forgive me but I just had to tell SOMEONE.
