[Dixielandjazz] Austin Jazz Opportunities

Thank you, Dan.
I have not found most of those very jazzy.  The East Side Dandies page
woul not open, but there was a link theret from Aunt Ruby's.  The band
I liked best - most outright traditional.  I also liked the Babies,
depite too many vocals; I like any band that tackles old not
overplayed numbers such as "Louise."
Your colleague Dave replied in your name that you meant "truncated"
traditional bands; actually, the only one which fits that description
is the Dandies.  Aunt Ruby's Sweet Jazz Babies is a quintet - that's
already a full band, isn't it?  By the way, is their guitar Dobro or
National Steel?

Personally, I love groups such as the Dandies.  My favourite British
cornet player, Jim Petrie, has (or had) such a group - The Diplomats
of Jazz.  And I consider the Dutch Jazz-O-Matic Four absolutely
outstading.
