Has anyone else experienced difficulties in accessing Spotify in recent days?

 I signed up for Spotify when it was first mentioned on DJML that it was 
available in the USA, and had absolutely no problems with the system until last 
week.

 When I tried to access the site I was repeatedly rejected; after 
extensive gyrations I came across a display that indicated that, to be a 
"Spotify member", one must first be a "facebook member". I am/was not. 


  Against my better judgement, I decided to sign up for Facebook for the sole 
benefit of being able to use Spotify. Messages from Facebook confirmed that I 
had, in fact, become a Facebook member! 

  When I try to access Spotify using the procedures defined on their site my 
attempts are still rebuffed, accompanied by a loud Klaxon sound! I even went 
through the exercise of deleting my original download of Spotify, and reloading 
it; all indications are that the new download was successful, including 
the (re)appearance of the Spotify icon on my "desktop". 

                                      Does any one have any thoughts and/or 
suggestions?
