Per an article in today's NY Times, The Alan Lomax archive of 5000
hours of sound recordings, 400,000 feet of film, 3000 videotapes, 5000
photographs and piles of manuscripts. Should be ready for streaming by
the end of February.

As many of us know, Lomax was an archivist of "traditional" US MUSIC,
folk music that did include some jazz.

To see/hear some of his work, visit:

Once there, it will stream to the next 138 videos if you hit the "Play
all" button to the bottom right of the video picture.

Or go to: http://www.youtube.com/user/AlanLomaxArchive. There are 138
videos there, from The Dirty Dozen Brass Band to Preservation Hall.
Starting with Canray Fontenit and his violin. It will strem to the
next videoNapolian Strickland and his Diddley Bow.

Or, if you want to hear an OKOM tune, hear Sam Chatmon's story of
Corrina visit
