I take exception to Mark Feeney's statement that Calloway's band was more novelty act than orchestra." Actually, it was one of the best, hardest swinging and imaginative bands, making monet thanks to Cab's enertaining skills. Sure, he was first and foremost an entertainer, but he had a fantastic orchestra! Cheers
