Dear Dixiejazzdata,

It was churlish of you not to mention the part that their son (Alfa) - the 
energetic male that he was - played in developing the code for restricted 
conversations. He was a handsome lad with a mop of curly hair, hence his 
nickname - "Curly Alfa". The outlook from his bedroom windows over the 
seemingly live sand dunes gave him the idea how to tune the drums to a 
secret code that could be concealed in the underground crypts, thus allowing 
cryptic messages.
