For a couple weeks now I've been seeing some messages with no readable
text but with varying amounts of this:

It varies from a few lines to a long page.  I know some binary files
look like this in a text reader, but they always have leading and
following information that defines the file type.  I would guess I'm
seeing these in about 10% to 15% of all the messages I get from this
group.

I'd be thankful for any information about what causes this and if
anyone else is seeing it.  I can't think of any recent changes here
that would be doing this.
