There are a few really great Jazz singers. The ones mentioned in this thread are all great, even though I am not a big fan of Billie Holiday, (Her lagging the beat all the time makes me nervous). 
I love Lee Wiley’s singing.  
However, none of them can touch Ella. She is in the same class as Armstrong, Teagarden and Goodman.
