DJML colleagues,

I previously posted about a fabulous cruise opportunity for the Capital
Focus Jazz Band youth group that I direct. The band is currently at the
halfway mark towards meeting its quota of cruise cabins sold. We've
gotta fill that other half, or these talented young musicians will have
to stay home! Please look again at the incredible talent lineup below,
the fabulous itinerary, and the low price, and come on board! Be sure
to mention CFJB when you book, or the band will not get credit for your
participation. On behalf of my young folks, thank you so much.

COME CRUISE THE CARIBBEAN WITH THE CAPITAL FOCUS JAZZ BAND!

"Get 'Em On the Boat!" Campaign Continues

The Capital Focus Jazz Band--the youth learning program of the Potomac
River Jazz Club and one of the premiere trad jazz youth ensembles in the
U.S.--is thrilled that they have been invited to perform in the JazzFest
at Sea in December 2012! But in order to realize this dream, they must
sell cruise cabins. The band is currently at the halfway point towards
meeting their quota, and needs to bring more people onboard. When you
sign up and identify yourself as a CFJB supporter, the band will get
credit for your participation.

This year's JazzFest at Sea (December 1-11, 2012) is a Caribbean cruise
with a terrific itinerary, leaving from Ft. Lauderdale and porting at
Bonaire, Aruba, Columbia, Panama, and Jamaica. The talent lineup is
stellar to say the least, and includes Dick Hyman, Banu Gibson, Allan
Vache, Hal Smith, Randy Reinhart, Johnny Varro, Terry Blaine, Harry
Allen, Duke Heitger, John Cocuzzi, and other stars. The performance
schedule includes tributes to Bobby Hackett and Benny Goodman, as well
as a special re-creation of Pete Kelly's Big Seven. The action takes
place on the elegant MSC Poesia. To see the full lineup, itinerary, and
prices (starting at just $1299 per person, double occupancy), check out
the JazzFest at Sea web site: www.jazzfestatsea.com. Prices do not
include airfare or optional excursions, but do include all on-board
meals as well as all port charges and government taxes.

Without sufficient support from paying customers, the hard-working young
CFJB musicians will LOSE this fabulous opportunity to play alongside
some of the top pros in the business. Please stake your claim in the
future of this music by signing up! As an added incentive, all who sign
up in support of CFJB will receive an autographed copy of their latest
double-CD, "Renewing the Tradition Volume 7".

To hear the CFJB, go to their web site at prjc.org/cfjb.

To sign up, e-mail JazzFest at CruiseCafe.com and copy jazzteacher at wap.org
, and identify yourself as a participant in the CFJB's "Get 'Em On the
Boat!" Campaign. Please note that only registrations from travelers who
have not previously taken the JazzFest at Sea cruise will count towards
the band's quota.

The band can't do this without YOU. Band Director Dave Robinson and the
members of the band thank you most sincerely for your support of youth
involvement in traditional jazz.
