[Dixielandjazz] Gary Church in need of financial help

Dear Listmates,



The info regarding Gary Church and his need of funds for the operation for his brain tumor has been posted here before. But, I am posting an email from the banjo player Lee Floyd. 



I am sure that many of you know Gary, and/or have played with him. 



He was a member of our comedy Jazz group The Boondockers along with our former listmate Bill Gunter. 



Gary also worked for many years with Merl Haggard and Mel Tillis. 



Anything you can do financially will be much appreciated by Gary and Cheryl. 



Also, please pass this on to anyone who might be able to help.

It is with great sadness I send this to you but I think it is very important for any friends of Gary Church to know. I just sent him $1,000.00 last night and there is a drive to raise the $20,000.00 he needs for his operation for a brain tumor..

Folks, this is serious... My lifetime friend Gary Church needs an operation for a brain tumor. The following is what his other friends have already posted. I am sending a check for a thousand dollars this weekend. Please consider giving what you can for Gary and send it to his beloved girlfriend and caregiver Cheyrl Thurston. Bill Dendle says "Please send money - we all love and respect and enjoy Gary, but he and Cheryl need the dollars now just as much as all the love and prayers."

Before performing the surgery to remove a brain tumour the hospital and surgeon want Gary Church to have $20,000 on hand to pay for rehab, medication, chemo and radiation if needed. The surgeon and hospital are providing their services for free. Cheryl has already provided $5000...but still needs $15,000.
