May all of us, at his age, figure out how to please young audiences.

Tony Bennett Sells Great for a Man His – or Any – Age

NY Times - By BEN SISARIO - Sep 28 2011
Billboard’s headline says it all: “Tony Bennett Becomes Oldest Living
Artist to Top Billboard 200.”
Last week Mr. Bennett, 85, released “Duets II” (Columbia), which
features his collaborations with Lady Gaga, Amy Winehouse, Carrie
Underwood and others many decades his junior, and sang a belated
birthday concert at the Metropolitan Opera that was attended by Bill
and Hillary Clinton.
Now the sales tallies are in, and “Duets II” sold 179,000 copies,
according to the tracking firm Nielsen SoundScan, easily beating
titles by Lady Antebellum, Adele and Lil Wayne to top Billboard’s
standard album chart. (Before Mr. Bennett’s achievement with “Duets
II,” the oldest living artist to reach the top of the chart was Bob
Dylan with “Together Through Life” in 2009, when Mr. Dylan was 67.)
Last week’s top album, Lady Antebellum’s “Own the Night” (Capitol
Nashville), fell to No. 2 with 125,000 units sold, a 64 percent
decline. Adele’s “21” (XL/Columbia), by far the biggest hit of the
year, also fell one spot, to No. 3, but its 117,000 albums sold
represented only a 2 percent drop from the previous week.
The teen pop singer Demi Lovato opened at No. 4 with her third album,
“Unbroken” (Hollywood), with 96,000 units, and Lil Wayne’s “Tha Carter
IV” (Cash Money/Universal Republic) was in fifth place this week with
84,000.
