I thought I remembered some mention of Girard on the DJML and did a  
quick google search of  <George Girard + DJML> . Girard was mentioned,  
if only in passing references, on the DJML by:

Pat Cooke in 2002
Rae Ann Berry (twice) in 2003
Doug Burnley in 2003
Martin McKay in 2006 and 2007
