having read this book, i have to aggree with eric here. As a 21 year old
doing an essay on Louis I thought this would be a good read, and it was
useful, but what's with all the psych-analysing the awfer does? Also he
seems, like a lot of others to dismiss most of Louis's recordings after
the hot fives as commercial, but i love the dukes of dixieland stuff from
the 40s and 50s and his big band recordings sertenly seem to swing a lot
to me
should i expect a beating on this list for admitting that?
