Dear Guus,
Following on from Jack Mitchell's reply that your CD Vol. 1 probably features items by the Melbourne-based band Frank Johnson's Fabulous Dixielanders (1948-55), the other tune titles on that CD should help to identify it further.
As Jack says, your CDs are probably private or bootleg compilations.
Is there any other identification, other than 'Australian Jazz' and the tune titles, with your CDs?

1 That's a Plenty
2 Dallas blues
3 Ballin'The Jack
4 Terrible Blues
These 4 tracks are in this order on Side A of a 16 track 1986 LP by the group.

The following tracks are in this order on Side B of the same LP as tracks 6, 7 & 8.
22 Salty Dags [Salty Dog]
23 Ballin'the Jack
24 Blue Washboard Somp (Clarinet Washboard Stomp]

Now to Vol. 2 the 18 track CD.
1 Back in Your Backyard
2 Eccentric
3 Hindustan
4 When it is Sleepytime down South

These look as though they are be from a Bruce Gray LP recorded in March 1973, as they are in that order on Side A of the LP.

The following 3 titles appear to have come from Side B of an LP titled 'Dixieland Jazz. Frank Johnson & Friends' for they are in that order on the LP.
> 16 Down South Frisco Joe's Jazz Band
> 17 Tiger Rag -

> 18 The Tickle Rag	Graham Coyle. Piano solo with rhythm.

If so tracks 13, 14, 15 on your CD could be "Silver Bell's March/St Louis Blues/Dill Pickles Rag".

Perhaps we should continue this off list, as the subject will be of little interest to our DJML colleagues.
You also now have some fine examples of Australian Jazz from the periods mentioned above.
Full details can be provided when all the sources have been identified.
Kind regards,
Bill.
