How is Aker Bilk?

In the early 60s when he had a huge hit on "Strangers On The Shore," I learned to hate the song. I was working 6 and 7-nights a week in joints. Every time we took a break, "Strangers On The Shore" came on the Juke Box. It seemed as if I heard it thousands of times.

In the 80s I believe it was, I met Aker in Los Angeles at either the Los Angeles Classic Jazz Festival or the Sweet and Hot Festival. We had a good time buying each other drinks at the bar. Then I heard him play the song in person. He played it so beautifully that I became enamored of the song and now play it often in my piano gigs.

I hate all this terrorist business.
I used to love the days when you could look at an unattended bag on a train or bus and think to yourself
"I'm going to take that."
