[Dixielandjazz] Banjo or guitar

Rick,
I have a trio (Dana Street Jazz Trio) with exactly the same
instrumentation as yours.
Our bass player also plays piano and sings, so we can get a variety of
sounds to cover trad jazz, show tunes, swing, rags, and polkas.
I haven't used an amp for my guitar so I only play it in smaller venues.
Do you have a pickup in your guitar or do you use an external mike?
