[Dixielandjazz] San Diego 2011 festival

Just returned from another great festival.  Seven venues in operation
most of the time with
good mixtures of the various subsets of styles withln the boundaries
of traditional jazz and
swing.  Special kudos for bringing in young featured performers Chloe
Feoranzo and Dave
Bennett.  Also the wonderful front line of Tim Laughlin, Connie Jones,
and Bob Havens.
Oh how they cooked!  Well supported by a powerful rhythm section of
Chris Dawson,
Marty Eggers, Katie Cavera, and Hal Smith.

My 25th time there.  The audience is smaller in terms of numbers, but
the high quality
of this festival continues in every way.  Thank you San Diego
organizers and volunteers.
