The first title of the same session which produced "Chinese Blues" and "Bass Ale
Blues" isssued on Vocalion 15234 as by The Hottentots, is "Tain't Cold", this
time only issued on Brunswick 3039 as by The Original Memphis Five. The
personnel is the same - Nichols, Mole, Lytell, Signorelli and Beauduc but in
spite of what is in "Jazz Records", Tarto can also be heard on this side while
no banjo is audible. This title was also recorded by a band which included Dick
Sudhalter on cornet for the soundtrack of the English movie "The Shooting
Party". Typically, the scene where the music can be heard when a record is
played on a Victrola, is set in the year 1914! Sudhalter tried to point out the
error to the film director - without result.
