Bill was a really, really nice guy with a fantastic sense of humor. I
transcribed a very long interview he did with Dave Radlauer and Bill Carter
quite a number of years ago and published it in the San Francisco
Traditional Jazz Foundation publication, the Frisco Cricket. It is available
at http://www.sftradjazz.org/articles. Click on the Winter 2005 issue to
download the pdf file. He had a really interesting career as a trombonist,
especially in the early years in Oakland and Berkeley.
