[Dixielandjazz] Audience Connect 101 : by Bobby McFerrin

Hi Y'all,

This is not jazz related although Bobby McFerrin sings a fine jazz.  So, 
fundamentalists, delete now.

I put on the table for discussion and comment, the importance of 
connection with the audience and/or the ability to creatively 
communicate with them.  I'm presenting two examples of Bobby McFerrin's 
contact with an audience.  He has a charm that really grabs.

There are many clips on YouTube where Bobby McFerrin gets his audience 
to sing Gounod's "Ave Maria" (based on Bach's Prelude in C major).  This 
one is outside in the rain.  Ok, ok, it was at a Bach festival.

The new clip (for me), is a spontaneous prayer for Japan's tsunami 
victims.  I'm sure there was some coaching going on before the cameras 
were rolling, but still.
