[Dixielandjazz] [Bulk] Verses

Exactly; those old songs were SONGS. You were supposed to hear the lyrics
and the story was told in the verses.

"Bill Bailey Won't You Please Come Home?" is another excellent example. If
you do the verses, you find out he DID pass by the house, and kept on going.

The verses to "By The Beautiful Sea" tell an entirely different story from
the usual impression.

Even if you don't sing the lyrics to a song, they give you the subtleties of
the phrasing the composer intended.
