Marc Myers blog  at www.JazzWax.com  has interesting, and brief, discussion
about distasteful obscenity in current language and pop songs.  There's also
a photo of young Ahmet Ertegun who along with his brother Neshui were
founders of  Atlantic Records. I never met either, but jazz photographer
Bill Gottlieb used to talk about his friendship with the Ertegun brothers in
Washington, DC.  They were sons of the Turkish ambassador and became serious
jazzfans. This was yesterday's post.

 

Incidentally, Ahmet gave a eulogy at Gottlieb's funeral.  A few months
later, Ahmet died subsequent to a fall from a stage.
