>> (I have to admit I possibly cheated, but I keep my cornet next to my chair to encourage a bit of practice now and then, and played the same figure!)

Dear Marvin,
Cheat!
*>)
What about the slur at 1.30?

>> I just gave a listen to the Whoopee Makers version, and Jack does, as you suggested, do the drinking glass solo on that recording, too.

I also found it and was about to email you.
For some reason, I thought it was a different (yet to be found) title.

>> Seems to me there's a St. James Infirmary recording where he solos with the glass also.
>> Perhaps with Armstrong?

I mentioned the Armstrong version in my last email.

>>> He also does it on the Mound City Blue Blowers' "Tailspin Blues" (25 September 1929), the famous Louis Armstrong May 1947 Town Hall Concert version of "St James Infirmary"........

Very kind regards,
Bill.
PS: Found the one I had in mind!
"Dirty Dog" from 5 April 1929. Same basic solos, but without the glass.
