Dear Kaye,
As you will know, but other listmates may not, Mr Hill was a member of the Louis Armstrong Orchestra in the mid 1940s and recorded with the band at that time.
He was also in the studio orch for the film "New Orleans" along with Louis and Billie Holiday and with the big band when it recorded songs from the film for Victor in October 1946.
