Isn't it interesting to note that Republican spending cuts are aimed at the
other party's constituents. Like Arts, or social programs.

 

While the Democratic spending cuts are also aimed at the other party's
constituents, like the defense industries manufacturing hardware that it
neither needed or requested by the  Armed Forces.

 

Hopefully, the Pres tonight will standup for a sensible was to get the
country moving again.

 

Lets see, how did FDR get us out of the great depression? Check it out, in
1941 he got a mix of higher taxes and a mix of higher spending (mostly to
rearm) because he knew a war was coming. Worked for him didn't it? <grin>

 

GWB did the opposite. He got a mix of lower taxes, plus higher spending for
two wars and other reasons. That sure as hell didn't work and neither with
current voodoo economic proposals for lower taxes and lower spending work to
grow the economy.
