Dear Bob,
Composed by Carson Robison (possibly in the 30s), his MGM record became a hit in February 1948 and was in the charts for 9 weeks reaching No 14.
I remember the Carson Robison version issued here in Oz when I was a jazz teenager.
Also recorded by Tex Williams, Peter Lind Hayes, Doc Watson and Walter Brennan.
But is it jazz?
I suppose that depends on who's speaks it.

The debil made me say that.
Kind regards,
Bill.
