Goldie Photos & R-rated story
I worked with Don Goldie in the late 60s and early 70s in
Miami - actually played with Don for the Gleason show warm-ups +
various other gigs. People said he was a royal pain in the A#*#* but
he was always very nice to me. I had done a record date for him and
there was a small royalty involved. i totally forgot about it and 10
years later the Miami union local#655 sent me a 10 year old check for
about 75$. the check was invalid after all those years so I sent it
with a short note of explanation to Don. In a very short time I
recieved a fresh check from Don's personal acct. and a lovely note. he
was a wonderful trumpet player!
