Mike Gourrier, a New Orleans native and Katrina refugee now
living/working/broadcasting from Richmond, VA, writes about  pianist  Billie
Goodson Pierce and  cornetist De De Pierce.

Mike has been moderator of the Satchmo SummerFest  held annually first
weekend in August in New Orleans since 2001.  He writes:

Thanks for the nostalgic reminisces of my former neighbors. I knew both
Billie & DeDe who lived about 250 yards around the corner from my childhood
homestead. I saw them play many times, and knew them personally. A link in
the chain of the musical progression of the development of America's
original performance Art Form. My cousin was a member of the prominent Boyd
Family of Pensacola and I got to know some of the other Goodson family
members and see them perform.
