Dear Don,

Only 1½ months late? Here in this part of Norway, the snow is already two 
months late, and still hasn't come!
We've got around -6°C, and a heavy hoar frost.
This gets polished by all the passing traffic, and has turned the roads into 
veritable ice rinks.
Because it's frost and not snow, it hasn't occurred to the transport 
authorities to spread any grit.
