Hi Marek,
Thanks for the link. I first met and sat in with Dick at the Southward Inn, in Orleans, Mass, around 1952/53, where he was playing Leroy Parkins' Excalibur Jazz Band. Front line was Wetmore on cornet, Parkins on reeds, Cas Brosky, trombone. Rhythm was Bob Pilsbury, piano; bass, Frank Gallagher '(I believe), and Tommy Benford, drums. Tommy became an especially dear friend. I miss him to this very day.
When I left the New Black Eagles in 1981, to form the Blue Horizon Jazz Band, both Wetmore and Benford were on 2 tracks of our first recording in 1982, "Dawn of the Blue Horizon Jazz Band." The LP is still available. In 1983, Tommy recorded "Love For Sale" with me on my CD, "A Real Love Strong." Details are on www.bluehorizonjazzband.com.
Best regards,
Stan
