The Jim Cullum Jazz Orchestra (JCJB expanded to 12 pices) plays the
music of Don Albert and "Boots" Douglas this week on the show.

These were the two hottest bands in San Antonio on the east side
during the 1930s. In the 1950s, Albert successfully fought racists in
the city government to keep his Keyhole Club open. It was considered
an early grass-roots victory in the embryonic Civil Rights movement.
