Me too Don:

"Lips" played often in the Philadelphia area, sometime with the Bob
Cats and Ed Metz (wish he was still with us also) and often with Derf
Nolde's Keystone 5, as well as with others.

He was very nice to me when we did a gig with the Keystone 5. Front
line was Bobby on Tenor, me and Clarence Watson on trombone. Bobby
played lead in place of trumpet.

Also remember a time when he and Randy Reinhart on cornet were
opposite us at a local jazz festival. Bobby brought both his tenor and
Soprano saxes. He played a beautiful duet with Randy who had grabbed
the sop sax to play counterpoint to Bobby's tenor.

Wonderful player, wonderful man, great sense of humor.

Cheers,
