[Dixielandjazz] That John Gill LP...and Stomp Off Records

Folks, now that we're all on the same page as to which John Gill died 
and which is alive, let me reassure you on another count that 
bothered at least one of our number:

The 1984 LP that I put on my web site for those unfamiliar with the 
late English-Australian pianist is long out of print; it was never 
reissued on CD, and it won't be.  I don't bootleg Stomp Off CDs--in 
fact, I work with Bob Erdos to help make them happen and have since 
the late 1980s.

In fact, we're just starting to work on the long-delayed 6th edition 
of his "Index of Tune Titles and Composers."  Any of you who have the 
extended version of his earlier catalogs have it--the 5th edition was 
in "Catalog FF," with a purple cover.

We have lots of questions about tune histories and proper composer 
credits for the next edition, and I'm hoping to turn to this bastion 
of scholarship for help.
