[Dixielandjazz] Using tuba abd upright bass

  Many of you know or have worked with Buddy Apfel, now living in the 
Phoenix area.

When Buddy was with my K Street Ramblers in Sacramento, he would bring 
both tuba and string bass to the gigs. He sat with his tuba on a stand 
and his bass viol propped across his left knee. On his solo choruses he 
would trade fours with himself, switching between the instruments. Buddy 
is known for his imagination and antics. A good musician. Knows all the 
tunes.

I miss him.
