If you are a Django fan and in NYC next week, you need to visit  
Birdland to see Dorado Schmitt and sons. Who? Well if you are a Django  
fan you know who he is. If not, google him or check him out on You

These folks cook. Those of us who play in bands love songs like this  
one that could go on forever because there is so much swinging going  
on with so much energy. Well worth the money to see Dorado Schmitt et  
al.

Django Reinhardt NY Festival (Tuesday, Nov 2 through Thursday, Nov 4)  
This salute to this immortal Gypsy guitar hero, now in its 11th  
season, features a prominent inheritor of the style, the French  
guitarist Dorado Schmitt, and his sons Samson and Amati Schmitt. Also  
on tap are a succession of guests, including the cellist Borislav  
Strulev (Tuesday), the clarinetist Anat Cohen (Wednesday) and the alto  
saxophonist Miguel Zenón (Thursday). (Through Nov. 7.) At 8:30 and 11
