Our band plays Atlanta Blues, by W.C.Handy, Lyrics by Dave Elman (1923), but we've come to call it by the words of the last 4 of the last 8 bars:
"If I make Atlanta with no place to go, just make me one pallet on your floor." Come to discover, according to fake book, I've had it wrong for years: been singing "a pallet" instead of "one" -- appropriately declamatory and melliflous.
