Thanks from me for expanding what my ears heard today. I very much
enjoyed hearing the freshness, fun, and skill of the MySpace audios of National
Junk Band.

One suggestion for current 2-Beat Oz Tuba driven jazz would actually
be a "jug/skiffle/comedy" band that is more tuba driven than most jazz
bands! I am talking about Mic Conway's National Junk Band (with
Carolyn Johns on tuba.)
http://www.nationaljunkband.com/junkband.html or
http://www.myspace.com/nationaljunkbandand - they are hot and fun! A
history that goes back to the 1970's with Captain Matchbook Whoopee
Band and a connection to the mysterious Kransky Sisters.

If there ever was a current Australian band to bring over to
Sacramento Jazz Festival, they would be my choice - others may argue,
go ahead!
1950s Yerba Buena is fine, been playing that for 30 years, but if we
are going to continue the tradition there has to be some new inclusion!
