[Dixielandjazz] Judd Pecek

To All:

It is with great saddness that I announce the passing of Judd Pecek.  His wife, Jackie, called me this morning to tell me that he had succumbed to the multiple bouts with pneumonia he had endured.  

To those who didn't know, or hadn't heard Judd, he was a marvelously exciting trad jazz trombonist.  Nobody ever drew more excitement from a solo than Judd did.  He played in Cleveland with the New Orleans Stompers and in New Jersey with the Buffalo Disaster Jazz Band.  I knew him as a fellow musician and as a friend for more than 40 years.  We had wonderful times together...truly wonderful times.

I will miss him.
