For those stirred by the D'Amico finds listen to the 1950 Hackett session for Columbia.
Songs recorded include What A Difference A Day Made, A Room With A View, and Oh Baby.
These recordings are new to me, may be the same for you too.
A Sad Night In Harlem, another to try out. The Ellington version unfortunately skips towards end of Ivie's vocal. The Erskine Hawkins version, though not as moving, ain't bad either.
First time I heard Sad Night was by the Crane River Jazz Band ~ excellent it was too.
