Far be it from me to interpret Jewish humor but, <grin>
1) As some of us old vets know, Army draft classifications were given
to prospective draftees (when we had a draft in the USA) to determine
their eligibility for Military Service.
2) The varied from 1A which meant you were prime meat to 4F which
meant you were physically unfit.
3) The joke mentions a "rare classification", "D minor" for musicians
and relates it to playing Klezmer in time of war.
4) D minor is one of the prime keys in which Klezmer music is written
and played.
Thus the Joke that a D minor classification for a musician would mean
that he has to play Klezmer. Drum Roll Please.
Interested parties may look up "Blog in D minor" originated by a
Hasidic Musician in New York City. An apt name for discussions about D
minor music, with emphasis on Klezmer.
