Dixieland is alive and well in Reading PA.
Here is a report about our Dixieland concert in Muhlenberg township,
PA, last night. (Thursday) That auditorium seats 1000 people on the
main floor, 334 in the balcony and is quite the venue. Wonderful
acoustics. There was a $2 music charge. A huge thunderstorm, with
hurricane force winds, passed through the area making travel from
Philadelphia to the Reading area quite a challenge for all of the band
members who traveled in that direction.
Next week, Thursday July 1, the Pretzel City Jazz Band (Dixieland)
from Reading, will perform a concert at that venue. 7 to 9 PM.
Cheers,

Glad to hear things were satisfactory from your end also. Our crowd
does like your style of music and loves your band. I hope everyone
made home safely. Take care.

Dear Karen:
Thank you for bringing us to Muhlenberg High School last night. We
always enjoy performing in the Reading area as the audiences there
always
feed back lots of energy. This concert was no exception.
I didn't count them, but suspect around 500 or so were there. They
clapped during our songs and solos and gave us a standing ovation at
the end of the concert. All of which was very much appreciated by the
old
boys and young girl in the band.
It was a little hectic getting there. Our trombonist (coming from New
Jersey) had a devil of a time trying to get past the Philadelphia area
because of the storm. Many roads were blocked by fallen trees, wires,
etc., so she finally tried the PA turnpike, which was closed west of
Valley Forge for while, causing a huge traffic jam at the VF exit. We
played the first few songs without her and the audience gave her a big
hand when
she arrived and during the rest of the concert..
In any event, the auditorium was, from our point of view, a wonderful
place to be and we appreciate your booking us that made it all possible.
Cheers,
Steve Barbone
