How did we get from Aaron Dodd to Pokomy?

Of course, I remember his video game becoming all the rage in the early 80s,
even
appearing on the cover of Time Magazine.(my first clue that the news media
was going
to hell in a hand-basket)

Wait,  that might have been Pokemon.
