A night of Swing & Dixieland music.

 

Annual concert to honor jazz legend Bix Beiderbecke.

(There’s a banner of him hanging at the L.I.R.R.station in Jamaica)

He was one time Sunnyside resident and one of the best jazzmen in the 1920’s.

 

79 years ago Beiderbecke died at age 28, on Aug. 6, 1931 on 46th Street in Sunnyside, Queens, NY.

Featuring

Dance performance by “Summer Stock for City Kids” 

The Sunnyside Drum Corps
Bix Beiderbecke  Memorial Jazz Orchestra

Featuring cornet soloist Kirby Jolly of the American Concert Band

And trumpeter Mike Ridley of the Cotton Club Orchestra

 

On exhibit a 1928 Model A Ford.
