Mike, by "old-time radio" I assume you mean programmes as opposed to
equipment. Here in Norway a lot of old-time programmes are repeated as well
as artists. The artists they repeat most of are old-timers such as Elvis
Presley, The Beatles, Frank Sinatra, and opera singers such as Gigli,
Bjoerling, and Caruso. The State-owned Norwegian Broadcasting sends 24 hours
a day of jazz on digital radio, where jazz from 1916 upwards to the present
day is sent. The stirring speeches of otherwise long forgotten politicians
also pop up from time to time. Some years ago they sent Orson Welles' "War
Of The Worlds" that caused so much trouble in the USA when it was first
sent. Of course, most of the material was made by Norwegians, and apart from
a handful of artists, e.g. Kirsten Flagstad these will not be known ouside
Scandinavia.

Kind Regards

Bob Smith
