I think one way to tell a musician drummer, from one who is no so  
inclined, is to watch how he/she tunes up his drums. Of course, if he  
does not tune his drums, chances are he is not going to be a "musical"  
drummer.

Guys like Morello, or Roach really got into the nitty gritty of  
"tuning" their kits.

Like anything else there are musicians (including drummers) and then  
there are folks who just happen to have an instrument. It is all (IMO)  
in what the player says through that instrument, or not, that  
separates the musicians from the hacks.
