Here is a short clip of the great man.
Just the name Django says it all.
The first original sound in jazz to come from a European musician - an
illetrate Gypsy, with a damgage hand. Yet he made the most amazing music
along with Stephane Grappelli as part of the Quintet of the Hot Club of
France.

Paul Barnes pays tribute to this great musician tomorrow on the exact
centenarray of his birth.
Catch the Late Paul Barnes on various BBC local radio stations or
on-line live at:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/playlive/bbc_radio_norfolk/
at 23:00 Saturday evening (GMT)
or for the following seven days at
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p002mhdx

Please let Paul know if you tune in at Paul.barnes at BBC.co.uk

Enjoy!
Have a good weekend,

John Petters
